Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster engagement, and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage complaints, conduct safety walks, oversee inventory, and monitor cameras.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, execute strategies, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team building, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and adaptability to flexible schedules.

- Proficiency in scheduling and labor management (experience)
- Knowledge of HR functions including onboarding and reviews (experience)
- Flexible availability including nights/weekends (experience)
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (experience)
- PetSmart or similar retail experience a plus (experience)
Responsibilities
- Oversee all store operations including safety, customer experience, and financial performance

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and monitor store cameras

- Analyze performance data and implement process improvements
