Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service, and execute daily business while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, review, and develop associates; build open-door culture and respond to feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; deliver exceptional service; conduct walks and maintain standards.
- Business Management: Analyze metrics, execute strategies, manage inventory, profitability, and community partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building, customer service, and operational skills. Passion for pets, financial acumen, and flexibility for varied shifts required. Experience in pet retail a plus.

- Create schedules, conduct performance reviews, and manage labor
- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalations
- Conduct store walks, monitor inventory, and maintain compliance
- Analyze business metrics and execute corporate strategies
- Foster company culture and associate engagement
- Partner on community events and adoption initiatives
- Review security footage and address safety issues
- Manage opening/closing procedures and pet health protocols
