Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and terminations. Build an open-door culture, foster engagement, delegate effectively, and support development through training and succession planning.
Overall Store Experience
Lead pet parent and associate experiences, ensure pet safety, resolve concerns, maintain standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and oversee opening/closing procedures.
Business Management
Deliver profitability goals, execute corporate strategies, analyze metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership, financial acumen, customer focus, and pet care knowledge. Thrive in dynamic environments with flexible scheduling.
