Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze metrics and root causes; execute corporate strategies; partner on events and adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset.
