Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and associate engagement to build high-performing teams.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor compliance, manage inventory, and foster a positive environment.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on events like community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team development and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting with flexible hours.
