Role Overview
As Sr Merchandise Planner, you'll craft accurate annual and seasonal financial plans (sales, margin, inventory, turn) aligning with PetSmart's merchandise strategy. You'll make data-driven decisions impacting gross margins, partner cross-functionally, and deliver insights to maximize sales and productivity while upholding our trusted brand for pet parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise rolling forecasts for sales, margin, receipts, inventory, and turn.
- Collaborate with Buyers and Assortment Teams on assortment and promotions.
- Analyze trends to optimize allocation, replenishment, and inventory strategies.
- Achieve KPIs including sales, margin, and turnover targets.
- Lead post-season analyses and present recommendations to leadership.
- Influence category merchandise strategies and special growth projects.
Experience & Skills
Seeking 5+ years in retail merchandise planning, with expertise in forecasting tools like Excel, RP, or Blue Yonder. Strong analytical mindset, presentation skills, and ability to influence cross-functionally. Bachelor's in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain preferred. Passion for data-driven retail decisions in a dynamic pet industry.
