Role Overview
The VP of Quality leads the organization overseeing quality and social compliance for proprietary products and regulatory compliance across all PetSmart offerings. As a strategic partner to Brand, Sourcing, Buying, Supply Chain, and Legal, you'll drive the quality roadmap, ensuring alignment with industry trends and customer expectations while maintaining ratings above 4.0 and minimizing recalls.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold ultimate accountability for product quality/compliance, customer ratings, and recall reduction.
- Collaborate with leadership to deliver operational and financial plans exceeding objectives.
- Lead multi-location teams (Phoenix HQ & DCs) efficiently and culturally aligned.
- Manage quality standards, external partners, supplier inspections, regulatory compliance, and DC food safety.
- Escalate and resolve quality issues swiftly with cross-functional teams.
Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 15+ years sourcing/vendor management in retail; 5+ years management.
Key Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in quality, social, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Proven planning, organizational skills, and business judgment.
- Strong project management to anticipate operational impacts.
- Strategic vision translating business priorities into quality initiatives.

- Serve as escalation point for quality issues from Store Ops, Audit, Legal, and Customer Care, resolving via cross-functional partnerships
