Role Overview
As Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist, you'll develop and oversee claims programs to reduce frequency and severity of losses. Provide TPA oversight, analyze trends, manage return-to-work strategies, and ensure compliance. This position demands technical expertise in workers’ comp, strong analytics, and cross-functional partnership in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct TPA and vendors for timely claimant care and reserve accuracy.
- Monitor performance against SLAs and conduct strategy meetings.
- Evaluate high-risk claims and develop data dashboards via RMIS.
- Administer Transitional Duty program and support field operations.
- Authorize settlements, implement cost-containment, and travel for reviews (5 trips/year).
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and leadership for training and alignment.
Experience & Skills
Require excellent communication, discretion, and workers’ comp knowledge. Strong analytics for trend analysis, team collaboration, and program management essential. General understanding of regulations, RMIS proficiency, and ability to handle confidential data preferred.
