Role summary

The KSA Medical Operations Manager is a member of the Saudi MA organization who closely collaborate with EM Medical Operations, Global Medical Systems and Operations team.

This role works closely with Saudi Arbia Country Medical Directors to ensure all operational aspects of Medical Affairs are performed with operational efficiency and are aligned and consistent across the region ensuring the operational services and partnership is a competitive advantage for KSA-Medical Affairs team.

This role will drive Our Collective Advantage by delivering high quality operations support, solutions, efficiently and consistency partnering with above country Medical Operations and Regional Medical Affairs teams.

Role responsibilities

  • Ensure outstanding implementation of KSA-Medical Affairs priorities and to align and promote efficiency in execution across the region and incorporate regional/country requirements.
  • Support the development and execution of the business and operational plan for KSA and manage and escalates risks where appropriate to deliver the set objectives/goals.
  • Ensures Our Collective Advantage through close collaboration and alignment with the above country medical operations colleagues.
  • Understands the KSA & EM regional business strategy and context of the region and is accountable to lead, own, develop and maintain KSA processes to enhance value to medical affairs in KSA and regionally.
  • Coordinates with other medical platforms, Digital, BPO and Governance teams Primary point of contact with the IDM/EM CMAO LT to ensure outstanding operational implementation to further Medical Affairs strategies in the countries/region
  • Leads engagement with CMD/Regional Medical Director to ensure all Medical Affairs Operations needs are met
  • Partners with leaders and key stakeholders to ensure the services, solutions and medical platforms meet the needs of KSA & EM CMAO LT, through partnership with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Drives change initiatives/projects and culture change with other medical platform teams to optimize support for KSA Medical Affairs teams.
  • Core member of the KSA & EM Medical Affairs Operations Team
  • Identifies and shares areas of best practice.
  • Co-ordinates with the above country colleagues to provide seamless operations support across the regions and categories.
  • Leads in driving cultural changes to embrace platform ways of working.
  • Identifies areas for enhancement and improved efficiency in all aspects of medical affairs operations.
  • This role is accountable for the follow-up, finding excellence areas of the budget related to the KSA Medical teams, works with Medical Directors and medical finance people.
  • Primary point of contact for the Regional EM Business Operations Partners (BOPs) to promote, efficiency and seamless compliant communications, operations for countries.
  • Ensures all operations, solutions and services meet compliance and legal requirements to maintain the required independence of Medical and Commercial activities.

Qualifications

  • BA Required; graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred,
  • 3/5 years in the pharmaceutical industry, with more than 5 years in Medical Affairs preferred,
  • Experience of leading a diverse team in a highly matrixed organization,
  • Excellent understanding of Medical Affairs operations and business goals and priorities,
  • Experience collaborating with senior level management
  • Drive for optimization/excellence and to promote efficiency through Our Collective Advantage
  • Delivery of exceptional customer services and experiences,
  • Track record for building strong cultures,
  • Strong ability to drive collaboration and foster highly productive, functional relationships,
