Role Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician I at Cardinal Health's Nuclear Pharmacy in Hummelstown, PA, you'll play a vital role in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals that aid in critical medical diagnoses and treatments. This entry-level position offers hands-on training under licensed pharmacists, focusing on compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations. Enjoy a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, primarily overnights from 2:30 am to 9:30 am Monday through Friday, with every 3rd or 6th weekend and rotating holidays from 2:00 am to 5:00 am. Key Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a qualified Staff Pharmacist, your duties will include:

  • Preparing prescriptions by typing labels and securing pharmacist approval before dispensing.
  • Drawing precise doses into syringes or vials for safe packaging and delivery.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals per Federal, State, Company, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Receiving, documenting, and storing incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals in compliance with Department of Transportation and internal protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization and accountability of prescription drugs.
  • Assisting in labeling blood cell products and performing general laboratory and facility clean-up.
  • Handling clerical tasks such as record maintenance, receipt preparation, report generation, and billing support.
  • Making deliveries to client accounts using company vehicles as needed.
  • Addressing customer inquiries via telephone with professionalism and accuracy.

All work is closely supervised and reviewed for precision, with any deviations requiring supervisor approval.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
