Key Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a licensed Staff Pharmacist, you'll be trained to handle radiopharmaceuticals safely. Core duties include:

  • Preparing prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining pharmacist approval before drawing doses into syringes or vials.
  • Performing quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals per Federal, State, Company, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Receiving, documenting, and storing incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals in compliance with Department of Transportation and company protocols.
  • Maintaining accurate computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization and accounting of prescription drugs.
  • Assisting with labeling blood cell products, general lab and facility cleanup, and clerical tasks like record maintenance and billing.
  • Making deliveries to local accounts using company vehicles (approximately 20% of time).
  • Addressing customer questions via telephone and relaying information to physicians and pharmacists.

All work is closely supervised and reviewed for accuracy, with deviations requiring supervisor approval.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
  • Manual dexterity for reaching, lifting small objects, and dispensing doses; ability to manage up to 75 pounds.
  • Comfort with repetitive motions/tasks, nuclear environments, overtime with little notice, and flexible shifts.
  • Intermediate computer skills for inventory systems and tablets.

This entry-level trainee position emphasizes learning facility preparation, equipment cleaning, and regulatory compliance.

  • Access to Cardinal Health's comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development.
  • Company vehicle for deliveries, reducing personal wear-and-tear.
