Role Overview

The Pharmacy Technician (PRN) position at our Western Sierra Grass Valley Medical Clinic retail pharmacy offers a dynamic opportunity to make a real impact in community health. This as-needed role covers PTO and operates Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (with a brief closure from 1:00pm to 1:30pm). Located in Grass Valley, California, you'll work in a company-owned contract pharmacy focused on patient access and quality care. Ideal for motivated professionals with retail pharmacy experience, this role emphasizes building patient relationships and supporting pharmacists in medication preparation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

In this vital role, you'll ensure seamless pharmacy operations while prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction. Responsibilities include maintaining professional relationships with pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. You'll adapt to varying demands, staying available to customers at all times with a friendly, helpful attitude. Key tasks involve organizing medications by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities; ensuring medication availability through patient delivery and ordering; maintaining a safe and clean pharmacy in compliance with all procedures, rules, and regulations; and collaborating with the team on 340B best practices to accomplish related results.

Qualifications & Requirements

We seek candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), registration as a pharmacy technician in California if applicable, and at least 2 years of retail pharmacy technician experience (preferred). 340B program experience is highly valued, and vendor credentialing may be required. No college degree is necessary, making this an accessible entry point for back-to-work professionals, people with disabilities, and Veterans, whom we actively encourage to apply.

Cardinal Health offers competitive compensation with an anticipated hourly range of $21.20 to $27.00, determined by location, experience, skills, and internal equity. While bonus-eligible is no, you'll receive paid time off compliant with applicable laws. Drive time to locations outside your home store is reimbursed at your hourly rate (counting as time worked), with mileage reimbursed via our company travel system.
