Position Summary

The Plant Administrator (also known as Plant Administration Coordinator) at Sonoco's Menasha Paper Mill plays a pivotal role in managing administrative functions including production cost analysis, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, and more. Reporting to the Mill Manager and Division Financial group, you'll collaborate with the management team on strategic planning, cost reduction, and process improvements. This dynamic role also involves customer service, shipping, safety compliance, ERP system administration, and leading employee experience initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop safety programs and ensure compliance for administrative staff.
  • Handle timely purchasing, supplier evaluations, and invoice management.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on AP/AR, payroll, inventory, and variances.
  • Administer Oracle and Optivision ERP systems as superuser, designing reports and managing security.
  • Oversee capital spending, month-end closings, and financial risk controls like inventories and receivables.
  • Build employee relationships, provide training/coaching, and lead Office 5S/Employee Experience Teams.
  • Coordinate customer service, shipping, and backfill key roles like MRO Clerk or Administrative Assistant.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent bookkeeping experience).
  • Prefer 5+ years in accounting/financial analysis; strong customer service skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, urgency, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, team collaboration, and ERP proficiency.

  • Reconcile financial reports and analyze cost/production variances
  • Administer ERP systems including security, reports, and liaison with consultants
  • Oversee capital spending, internal audits, and project closures
  • Build employee relationships, provide training and coaching
  • Coordinate customer service, shipping, and administrative functions
  • Lead Office 5S and Employee Experience Teams
  • Backfill roles like MRO Clerk, Scheduler, and Administrative Assistant as needed
