Position Summary

The Plant Buyer role at Sonoco's Querétaro plant is essential for optimizing procurement processes in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You'll play a key role in sourcing high-quality materials, negotiating favorable supplier terms, and managing inventory to support seamless production. Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services required for plant operations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure materials meet required standards.
• Conduct cost analysis and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
• Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Prefer Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• High attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
