Role Overview

The PLC Controls Technician - Days position at PepsiCo's Mesquite, Texas location is a critical role for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our advanced production lines.   • Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems per manufacturer specifications
  • Program and repair PLC systems to minimize downtime
  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on advanced production equipment
  • Perform breakdown analysis to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Oversee general housekeeping, enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards
  • Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology and direct outside contractors
  • Handle package changeovers and work independently under limited supervision
  • Document work schedules, tasks completed, and maintenance activities

  • 18 years or older
  • Pass technical assessment on job-critical maintenance knowledge
  • Experience with basic electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
  • Experience with electrical systems installation, frequency drives, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with electronics like level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs
  • Experience with PLC systems, industrial maintenance, and computer controls
  • Proficiency in reading product manuals, schematics, and troubleshooting diagnostics

  • Mechanical systems (gear boxes, chains, motors, bearings)
  • Compressors/ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Conveyors, airveyors, gearing, hydraulics, pneumatics
