The Preventative Control Monitor - 2nd Shift position at PepsiCo's Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility is a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Working from 3 pm to 11 pm, you will manage and administer preventative controls for sanitation programs, supporting the Quality and Food Safety Management System. This role ensures that all manufacturing processes align with FSMA regulations, customer expectations, and consumer safety requirements. As a key player in Primary Pathogen Control Areas (PPCA), you will lead technicians, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvements, making a direct impact on product integrity and operational excellence.
In this position, you will be the driver of critical food safety and sanitation initiatives. Responsibilities include leading FSMA compliance efforts, such as Preventive Control documentation, cleaning verification, self-inspections, corrective actions, maintenance, Good Manufacturing Practices, and hygienic zoning. You will direct Preventive Control Technicians in your area, spearhead process improvements for PPCA cleaning and sanitation, and track Sanitation Preventive Control KPIs. Daily tasks involve monitoring hygienic conditions, performing routine audits for sanitary guidelines, addressing unsatisfactory findings, inspecting equipment post-cleaning with ATP swabbing, and documenting all activities. Additionally, you will serve as a backup for other PC Monitors, provide feedback to plant management on compliance, quality, safety, and reliability, and collaborate with your manager to identify new opportunities using the Cedar Rapids Food Safety Plan.
