As Principal Engineer, Endpoint Protection Product (Windows Technical Leadership) - Sensor, you will deliver technical leadership for our Endpoint Protection Product (EPP) team, focusing on Windows architecture and implementation. This hybrid role in Sunnyvale, California, requires 2-3 days weekly on-site. Drive architectural decisions, technical excellence, and innovation for Falcon Prevent, CrowdStrike's cutting-edge cybersecurity solution. Ensure our Windows sensor remains the industry's most advanced and reliable endpoint security platform while contributing to cross-platform initiatives. Provide architectural guidance for the Windows sensor team, crafting technology roadmaps, mentoring engineers, and ensuring project success. Champion technical excellence via architecture reviews, design patterns, and best practices.
Lead performance optimization, scalability enhancements, and technical debt reduction. Troubleshoot intricate challenges to boost product reliability and development velocity.
Collaborate cross-functionally to innovate and refine architectures. Stay ahead of Windows ecosystem trends and threats, driving advancements in real-time security monitoring.
Hold a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Bring extensive software development background, with 6+ years in systems programming. Demonstrate deep Windows OS internals, kernel development, and security architecture knowledge. Master advanced C/C++ and modern practices, plus software architecture for resilient client/data/cloud systems.
Excel in technical leadership, mentoring teams, and problem-solving. Possess strong communication to articulate complex concepts. Bonus for Linux kernel/eBPF, macOS internals, cross-platform work, malware analysis, open-source contributions, or remote team experience. This role involves periodic background and fingerprint checks for government compliance.
