RESUME AND JOB
CrowdStrike
CrowdStrike stands as a global leader in cybersecurity, safeguarding the people, processes, and technologies powering modern organizations. Since 2011, our unwavering mission has been to stop breaches, redefining security through the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We process nearly 3 trillion events daily across large-scale distributed systems, with traffic growing relentlessly. Serving customers across all industries, CrowdStrike ensures businesses thrive, communities stay safe, and lives move forward uninterrupted. Our remote-first culture empowers every CrowdStriker with flexibility and autonomy to own their careers, fostering limitless passion, relentless innovation, and fanatical commitment to customers, community, and each other.
As Principal Software Engineer, Endpoint AI Framework (Hybrid), you'll join the Sensor Security Platform team building foundational capabilities for CrowdStrike's Falcon sensor, deployed on over 50 million endpoints worldwide. We're expanding AI and machine learning on the endpoint—not to secure AI agents, but to harness AI as a powerful tool for endpoint security. In this senior individual contributor role with technology leadership responsibilities, you'll define our endpoint AI learning framework, deliver new security capabilities via deep learning and ML, and build a supporting team. Maintain Falcon's hallmark high reliability and lightweight footprint while exploring hardware acceleration to unlock new AI horizons in endpoint protection. Collaborate closely with in-house data scientists, security researchers, and endpoint engineers in a hybrid setup near Sunnyvale, CA, Redmond, WA, or Austin, TX offices—expect about two days weekly in-office for seamless collaboration.
Work with stakeholders in data science, endpoint engineering, and product groups to define next-generation endpoint AI framework capabilities for the Falcon sensor.
Lead framework development as an individual contributor, architect, and thought leader, directing technology for a highly performant, cross-platform model delivery system.
Design interfaces enabling models to interact with Falcon on millions of Windows, Linux, and macOS endpoints. Define resource limits and optimize for AI-powered security without compromising the agent's lightweight footprint.
Establish approaches for efficacy, regression, and performance testing, ensuring repeatability with runtime (vs. static) data.
Expand hardware acceleration usage (NPU/GPU) and shape CrowdStrike's next-gen endpoint ML capabilities.
To excel, bring leadership experience developing and delivering ML/AI models, deep understanding of AI platforms like ONNX or OpenVINO, and hands-on work with runtime data in high-performance settings. Familiarity with AI hardware acceleration via NPU or GPU is essential. Demonstrate strong endpoint development on Windows, Linux, or macOS—Windows kernel experience preferred. Proficiency in C/C++ and systems-level programming is non-negotiable, alongside a track record of owning solutions from design through post-delivery. Thrive in cross-organizational collaboration with engineering technology leadership. Security industry experience is a bonus; people management not required.
CrowdStrike leads in compensation with disclosed salaries from $195,000-$290,000 USD yearly, plus equity awards. Enjoy comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs, competitive vacation/holidays, paid parental/adoption leaves, and professional development for all levels. Build connections via Employee Networks, geographic groups, and volunteer opportunities. Experience vibrant office culture with world-class amenities in Great Place to Work™ certified locations globally. As an equal opportunity employer, we foster belonging for everyone.
This role offers unparalleled growth in a mission-driven company. As a principal engineer and tech leader, shape AI-driven cybersecurity innovations, mentor emerging teams, and influence Falcon's evolution. Our remote-first culture supports autonomy, with opportunities to collaborate across boundaries and drive impactful projects. Professional development programs ensure continuous skill-building, positioning you at the forefront of endpoint security.
Join a company redefining cybersecurity with the Falcon platform's AI-native prowess. Be part of stopping breaches for millions, in a culture valuing innovation, flexibility, and community. Hybrid flexibility near top tech hubs like Sunnyvale combines collaboration with work-life balance. With relentless growth and customer obsession, your contributions matter—helping secure the future starts here.
No, it's a senior individual contributor with technology leadership to build supporting teams; people management experience unnecessary.
Windows, Linux, macOS—strong experience in at least one required, Windows preferred.
Approximately two days per week in-office near Sunnyvale, CA; Redmond, WA; or Austin, TX.
A bonus, not required—focus is on AI/ML engineering for endpoint security.
Disclosed $195K-$290K USD/year, with equity and top-tier benefits.
