Role Overview

The Principal Systems Ontologist (Remote) role is at the heart of CrowdStrike's Product CTO organization. We're building a high-integrity infrastructure fabric—a platform that proves risks through a deterministic digital twin of the enterprise. In this leadership position, you'll treat global infrastructure as a formal graph, tracing every node and edge to a versioned source of truth. Solve challenges like reconciling on-premise data centers with multi-cloud topologies and designing inference engines that prioritize deterministic logic over non-deterministic reasoning. Architect the 'Chain of Custody' for infrastructure data, ensuring every insight is backed by irrefutable evidence. This is strategic, high-impact work in a team of Technical Strategy leaders driving the future of cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

Attested Knowledge Architecture

Contribute to end-to-end pipelines for immutable raw data preservation and canonical semantic transformation chains, ensuring data integrity at scale.

Multi-Layered Evaluation Logic

Lead the design of a logic engine that calculates effective exposure by intersecting network topology, resource configurations, and perimeter constraints.

Graph Strategy

Drive a multi-backend graph architecture optimized for real-time temporal state and deep multihop path analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Asset Platform, Risk Platform, Ingest, and Design Teams, while supporting the wider CTO organization including Falcon Fund, Privacy & Cyber Policy, and Detection Architecture.

Leadership and Mentorship

Guide engineers, taxonomists, and experts in distilling vendor noise into unified risk topographies. Present to executives, analysts, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as Principal Systems Ontologist, bring a proven track record architecting large-scale distributed systems where data integrity and performance are non-negotiable. Deep expertise in formal logic, relational algebra, and graph theory applied to high-performance engineering is essential. Demonstrable experience with bi-temporal data modeling and event-driven architectures is required, alongside proficiency in modern systems languages like Go or Rust. Exceptional leadership to shift stakeholders from intuition to formal models, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, and at least 5 years of relevant experience are mandatory. Superior communication for executive presentations and strong project management to build rapport across teams round out the profile.

Bonus Points: Experience in large-scale infrastructure management, designing abstractions for non-specialists, or evolving data systems to model-driven architectures.
