Position Summary
Sonoco is seeking a meticulous Print Planner to support manufacturing operations at our Newcastle tinplate printing facility. This critical role ensures seamless production planning, material coordination, and data accuracy across Manufacturing, Warehouse, Pre-Press, and Quality teams. Ideal for organised professionals with manufacturing experience, you'll drive on-time delivery and efficient plant performance in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
As Print Planner, you'll maintain weekly production plans, coordinate materials like tinplate, administer ERP systems, monitor progress, participate in daily plant meetings, track shipments, and liaise with suppliers. Your structured approach will highlight deviations, support priority changes, and ensure system integrity aligns with shop floor activities.
Your Daily Impact:
- Administer production plans based on orders and availability
- Coordinate warehouse material preparation
- Track production progress and resolve issues
- Update ERP data for accuracy
Required Qualifications
We need candidates with 2-4 years in manufacturing, packaging, printing, or metal processing, plus strong ERP knowledge. A relevant graduate qualification or equivalent experience is preferred. Key skills include exceptional organisation, attention to detail, methodical problem-solving, cross-team communication, commercial awareness, and proficiency in IT tools like spreadsheets and databases.

- Participate in plant meetings, support priority changes, and update plans
- Monitor shipment status and verify against production plan
- Liaise with raw material suppliers to ensure supply continuity
