Role Overview

Cardinal Health is seeking a skilled PRN Hospital Pharmacist to join our team at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Ocoee, Florida. In this as-needed role, you'll provide pharmaceutical care services during facility hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm) and participate in an on-call rotation, covering at least one week per month including weekends and holidays. Our pharmacists oversee medication therapy, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care in a rehabilitation setting. Key Responsibilities

As a PRN Hospital Pharmacist, your role is pivotal in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting verbal and written medical orders, transcribing them accurately to computerized patient medication profiles, and maintaining complete records.
  • Compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals, including sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition, with precision and safety.
  • Issuing controlled substances to patient care areas while adhering to legal record-keeping requirements.
  • Monitoring drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and dosing appropriateness, including pharmacokinetics consults.
  • Reviewing culture and susceptibility data to recommend optimal antibiotic therapy.

Additional Duties

Beyond core dispensing, you'll detect and report adverse drug reactions, sustain the formulary through therapeutic substitutions, provide clinical consultations to practitioners, document interventions, and participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication use reviews, and staff education programs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Florida.
