Role Overview

This PRN Nuclear Medicine PET Technologist position at Rocky Mountain Oncology Center in Casper, WY, offers a flexible schedule covering late afternoon/early evening hours one day every other week (3-5 hours per shift), with potential to expand to one day per week based on clinic needs. As a PET CT Technologist, your daily impact includes:

  • Greeting patients and families, escorting them through the facility for a comfortable experience.
  • Injecting radiopharmaceuticals and conducting diagnostic PET/CT scans with precision.
  • Verifying scan order completeness from physician offices at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Processing images, pushing to PACS, and archiving to PACS/DVD daily.
  • Comparing scan orders, clinical data, and images for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ordering radiopharmaceuticals, crediting unused doses, and managing inventory.
  • Running QC on equipment, performing QA, maintaining logs, and facilitating repairs.
  • Educating physicians on PET/CT imaging and developing marketing strategies with clinical educators.
  • Collaborating across teams to implement efficiency procedures and reduce costs.
  • Scanning data into RIS systems accurately and meeting all processing deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should meet these criteria:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required.
  • Current ACLS or BLS/BCLS certification.
  • CT imaging experience preferred; GE PET/CT camera experience a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, with regular attendance and punctuality.

This position works under direct supervision on limited-scope projects, following established procedures to resolve technical issues.
