Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Process Technician I in Conyers, GA, reporting directly to the Production Manager. In this full-time, 1st shift role, you'll perform essential tasks to deliver high-quality, efficient, and timely production of ThermoSafe products across multiple machine lines and departments. Excellent attendance is crucial for team success. This on-site position offers competitive pay around $21.96 per hour, with opportunities to excel in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor operations process, work, and material flow to ensure quality and customer specifications are met.
• Report accurate production numbers and meet goals set by Shift Supervisor/Production Manager/Plant.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities, including running tests and trial runs as needed.
• Execute tool changes and repairs following all HECP LOTO procedures.
• Conduct and/or assign quality checks like burst testing, salinity, and weights.
• Communicate with maintenance and vendors on supplies and work orders.
• Organize all tooling in labeled storage locations.
• Direct Inspector/Packers for efficient labor use and cost minimization.

Required Qualifications

• Sufficient mechanical skills to troubleshoot and fix machine issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform repetitious duties including standing for long periods.
• Reliable, with good initiative, commitment, and quality focus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., read manufacturing instructions, and work quickly with high craftsmanship and attention to detail.
