Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Process Technician II at our Conyers, GA facility on 2nd shift. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll ensure high-quality, efficient production of ThermoSafe products across multiple lines. This on-site role demands excellent attendance, mechanical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while learning various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor operations, work, and material flow to meet quality and customer specifications.
  • Report accurate production numbers and meet goals set by supervisors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, tests, trial runs, tool changes, and repairs following HECP LOTO procedures.
  • Conduct all quality checks including burst testing, salinity, and weights.
  • Communicate with maintenance and vendors; organize tooling in labeled storage.
  • Direct Inspector/Packers for efficient labor use and cost minimization.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical skills for troubleshooting and fixing machine issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and maintain high craftsmanship.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitious duties.
  • Reliability, initiative, quality focus, and ability to read manufacturing instructions.
