Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to deeply understand how customers leverage Datadog for observability, cloud monitoring, and security.
• Transform user research insights into innovative ideas, then sketch, prototype, and ship features that elevate Datadog's capabilities in incident response and automation.
• Build expertise in the Actions product area, learning from and contributing to the broader design team.
• Clearly communicate your design work and the strategic rationale behind every decision to stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure designs are technically viable, owning the final polish and microinteractions.
• Experiment with AI integration in design workflows to create intuitive tools for DevOps and cloud-native environments.
• Conduct customer interviews and usability testing to refine designs for maximum impact on developer productivity.
• Foster collaboration across Datadog's ecosystem, promoting best practices in observability and infrastructure monitoring.
• Deliver end-to-end ownership from concept to launch, seeing your designs live in production for global customers.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating shipped end-to-end work in complex technical domains.
• Proven excellence in visual and verbal communication, articulating design rationale effectively.
• Strong grasp of systems thinking and component-based design, adept at sketching to high-fidelity prototypes with attention to microinteractions.
• Hands-on experience with advanced tools like Figma, Framer, Sketch, Principle, InVision.
• Passion for AI experimentation in workflows and building AI-powered products, with openness to contribute code.
• Growth mindset, skilled at giving/receiving feedback, and committed to continuous improvement for self and team.
