Cardinal Health Canada stands as a vital link in the nation's healthcare supply chain, employing over 1,400 professionals nationwide and delivering more than 70,000 essential products to healthcare facilities and medical experts. At our Gananoque manufacturing center, we've built a 112-year legacy of innovation, producing life-impacting medical devices that empower customers to thrive amid evolving healthcare demands. With more than 250 dedicated team members, we combine deep expertise in medical device manufacturing with an unwavering passion for efficiency, effectiveness, and patient health.
The Production Assembler - Pre-wired position at Cardinal Health's Gananoque facility offers a dynamic entry into medical device manufacturing. You'll join the pre-wired team, operating manual and semi-automated machines to produce high-quality disposable electrodes. This full-time role features 12-hour rotating shifts—two weeks on days (7am-7pm) and two weeks on nights (7pm-7am)—following a structured schedule: Week 1 (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat) and Week 2 (Sun, Wed, Thu). Pay ranges from $18.90 to $22.59 per hour, plus a $0.84 hourly shift differential, with bonus eligibility based on performance.
In this hands-on role, your contributions directly impact the quality and efficiency of our medical products. Primary duties include safe operation of semi-automated pre-wired electrode machines, encompassing machine setup, material replenishment, manual processes like wire placement, wrapping, and packaging. You'll monitor operations, perform adjustments, verify safety guards, complete line clearances, ensure proper product coding and material use. Additional tasks cover cleaning and preventative maintenance to uphold 5S standards for optimal work cell efficiency, plus in-process quality assurance testing—sampling products, documenting on Device History Records (DHR), and promptly notifying supervisors of any non-conformances.
Expect a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and mechanical aptitude shine. From ensuring clean work areas to troubleshooting minor issues, every action supports our commitment to precision manufacturing.
We seek positive, team-oriented individuals ready for a 24/7 manufacturing setting. Preferred qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, machine maintenance skills, and problem-solving abilities. Mechanical aptitude is a strong asset, alongside comfort with repetitive motions, lifting up to 10 lbs, and alternating between sitting and standing. Success demands detail orientation, pride in high-accuracy work, thriving in active team environments with clear communication, and general knowledge of industrial settings. Basic computer skills are essential.
Cardinal Health invests in our employees from day one. Enjoy comprehensive full dental and health benefits, including life insurance. Our pension plan features employer matching contributions, plus participation in an incentive plan. Additional perks include paid vacation days, tuition reimbursement for career advancement, paid allowances for uniforms and safety shoes, and in-house training on safety measures, production tasks, and equipment operation. These benefits create a supportive foundation for long-term success.
At Cardinal Health Gananoque, career progression is real and rewarding. Starting as a Production Assembler opens doors to advanced manufacturing roles, quality assurance positions, supervisory opportunities, and specialized training in medical device production.
