Job Summary

The Production Machinist - 1st Shift plays a critical role in our Thomasville, NC manufacturing operations. You'll set up and operate advanced rotary transfer machining equipment like Buffoli Nuts and Fittings, Davenports, and Acmes to produce high-quality plumbing components. Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

  • Lead by example in safety, addressing unsafe conditions and supporting improvement initiatives.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and layouts for accurate machinery setup.
  • Operate rotary transfer machines: load stock, monitor cycles, and achieve production/quality targets.
  • Perform operator quality checks using precision tools to verify tolerances.

Maintenance & Documentation

  • Complete detailed production records: output, tool changes, issues, and improvement recommendations.
  • Conduct basic inspections and maintenance—check oil, pressures, coolant levels.
  • Repair tooling, spindles, belts, sheaves, bearings, and other components.

Flexibility & Teamwork

  • Cross-train across work centers to meet customer demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned on 1st shift (7am-3pm).
