The Production Manager role at PepsiCo's Saint-Laurent, Quebec facility is pivotal in overseeing all manufacturing and production activities. Key tasks involve monitoring performance indicators such as efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, and transaction precision, while developing action plans to address cost variances.
Lead and motivate teams to resolve daily operational issues, achieve performance goals, and embrace change. Coach frontline hourly and salaried staff through hiring, training, and effective communication. Adjust production plans across shifts to minimize service disruptions and waste, while promoting profitability through cost-reduction initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, procurement, planning, sales, and R&D teams. Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory HSE/quality requirements. Drive waste minimization in ingredients and packaging, reinforcing PepsiCo's commitment to sustainability and efficiency.
Candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least 5 years in manufacturing is preferred, ideally in food or beverage production. Lean Six Sigma experience, evidenced by a major improvement project, is highly desirable. Proficiency in TPM or lean manufacturing, finance, project management, leadership, and statistical problem-solving is essential.
Practical knowledge of HSE/quality compliance, processing/packaging/warehousing operations, maintenance, ingredient procurement, production planning, sales/marketing, and R&D is required. Proven experience in developing and coaching hourly/supervisory staff, delivering constructive feedback, team-based decision-making, and thriving in fast-paced, results-oriented settings. Strong coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills are critical. Regular on-floor presence in the factory is mandatory.
