Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Production Manager in Stockton, CA, reporting to the Plant Manager. This pivotal role oversees safety, quality, delivery, productivity, costs, and employee development in a high-performance manufacturing environment. You'll implement best practices, lead continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a safe, efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion employee safety with comprehensive programs and OSHA/EPA compliance.
  • Motivate, train, and develop diverse teams, including hiring and performance management.
  • Optimize production schedules to meet customer demands, minimize inventory, and control costs.
  • Lead lean initiatives like 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and capital projects for operational gains.
  • Drive quality assurance, budgeting, and workflow efficiencies without compromising integrity.
  • Handle employee relations, coaching, and collaboration with HR and leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years manufacturing experience with proven safety leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, public speaking, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English preferred; flexible schedule and Red Cross CPR/AED certification.
  • High integrity, work ethic, and composure in fast-paced settings.
