Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Production Packer in Winchester, KY. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate all production equipment safely while maintaining excellent attendance. This role requires hands-on analytical abilities, organization skills, and a keen eye for detecting defects on the packing line. Enjoy a pay rate of $18.62 per hour ($1.00 shift differential for night shift) on 12-hour rotating shifts (7am-7:30pm or 7pm-7:30am).

Key Responsibilities

• Work safely while following all Plant safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Set up, operate and maintain all production equipment to ensure quality standards and budgeted production rates are met or exceeded.
• Adjust equipment (speeds, pressures, temperatures, etc.) to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
• Maintain superior housekeeping and 5S in your work space.
• Timely and accurate completion of all required quality checks.
• Ensure quality expectations are met or exceeded and notify line lead or supervisor when product fails to meet standards.
• Record and maintain production data such as meter readings and quantities, types and dimensions of materials produced.
• Perform any other task assigned by your line lead, supervisor or other members of management.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of industrial warehouse/manufacturing experience.
• Excels in a team environment and strong ability to work with others to achieve business goals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
• Steel toe shoes required.
• Ability to read, write, and perform math skills.
• Sense of urgency and responsibility.
• Understanding of manufacturing and quality control.
• Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled conditions, extremes of heat (up to 100 degrees in the summer), humidity, and noise from production machinery.
