Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a dedicated Production Worker for our tubes and cores manufacturing facility in Newport, TN. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will contribute to the production environment on swing (1st and 2nd shift) and 3rd shift schedules, starting at $20.36/hr. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are pillars of Sonoco culture. **MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NEEDED**. This full-time role offers opportunities for advancement in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Pack product into boxes, retrieve product from equipment, and operate machinery.
• Make incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured products.
• Apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions, math, and measuring.
• Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record.
• High school diploma or GED, with desire to advance.
