Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a dedicated Production Worker for our tubes and cores manufacturing facility in Newport, TN. Reporting to the Supervisor, this full-time role involves swing shifts (1st and 2nd) and 3rd shift, starting at $20.36/hr. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic define our culture. MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NEEDED. Contribute to a dynamic production environment in packaging manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Pack product into boxes, retrieve from equipment, and safely operate machinery.
• Make incremental process adjustments, monitor, and report quality of manufactured products.
• Apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area; assist other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions, perform math, and use measuring tools.
• Proven strong attendance record and punctuality.
• High school diploma or GED; eagerness to advance in manufacturing.
