Position Summary

Sonoco is seeking a dedicated Production Worker for our tubes and cores manufacturing facility in Newport, TN. Reporting to the Supervisor, this full-time role involves swing shifts (1st and 2nd) and 3rd shift, starting at $20.36/hr. You must be willing to work overtime as needed. Contribute to a dynamic production environment focused on excellence in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing tasks.
• Pack products into boxes, retrieve from equipment, and safely operate machinery.
• Make incremental process adjustments, monitor, and report on the quality of manufactured products.
• Apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while assisting other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend standard work instructions, perform basic math, and use measuring tools.
• Proven strong attendance record and punctuality.
• High school diploma or GED, with a desire to advance in a manufacturing career.
