Role Overview

Canonical seeks a skilled Project Manager for Ubuntu Embedded Systems in our Taipei, Taiwan office. This high-profile role coordinates complex customer-facing projects, delivering Ubuntu images to robots, edge gateways, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems. As the primary liaison between Canonical's engineering teams and customers, you'll oversee all aspects of project delivery. Build relationships with silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, IHVs, and internal teams. This office-based position supports global projects, requiring flexibility for different time zones and non-traditional hours.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll drive projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with Canonical and client objectives. Key duties include:

  • Managing full project lifecycles and delivering engineering professional services.
  • Collaborating with engineering on custom board enablement and Ubuntu image delivery.
  • Developing statements of work, project schedules, and securing client agreements.
  • Ensuring delivery within time, resource, and scope expectations while mitigating risks.
  • Maintaining daily/weekly communication with clients, stakeholders, and managing third-party deliverables.
  • Driving technical resolutions, identifying custom engineering needs, and advocating Canonical technologies.
  • Keeping management informed and supporting global time zones as needed.
