Job Title: Projects Head – Turnkey Grid Control Business (MEA)

Location: Kuwait City, Kuwait or other major Siemens Locations in ME region

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned and results-driven leader to head the Turnkey Grid Control business—with a primary focus on telemetry and communications—across the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. This role is accountable for shaping and executing the regional strategy while ensuring the successful delivery of fully localized turnkey projects within the region.

The position holder will oversee end-to-end project execution, drive operational excellence, and build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders. Leading a diverse, high-performing technical team, you will work in close alignment with global functions to deploy advanced Grid Control solutions that enable the digital transformation of power utilities across MEA.

Key Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in Grid Control systems—such as Spectrum Power 7—combined with proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary technical teams and delivering complex solution-based projects in a regional environment. Here are tasks and responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & General Management

• Implement and execute the regional Grid Control strategy in alignment with global objectives.
• Own P&L performance for the MEA Grid Control business, ensuring revenue growth and project profitability.
• Drive execution performance and achieve utilization targets across regional resources.
• Support business development activities in assigned countries and priority markets.

Global Standards & Regional Capability

• Deliver global-standard products and solutions while effectively leveraging regional capabilities.
• Expand business opportunities through lifecycle services, upgrades, and recurring turnkey offerings.

Business Development & Customer Engagement

• Engage with senior customer stakeholders to secure contractual commitments.
• Drive lifecycle business growth through recurring service, modernization, and upgrade solutions.

Stakeholder Management

• Align internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
• Collaborate closely with Sales and global functions including Business Management (BM), PMO, PLM, and Service.

Operational Excellence & Project Delivery

• Ensure successful delivery of the Solutions (SOL) portfolio in compliance with global standards.
• Act as executive sponsor for key strategic customers.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Support the bid and tender process, including independent handling of service offers below €500k.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Plan and allocate resources for bids, project execution, and service delivery.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Market Intelligence & Representation

• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.
• Represent the company at industry events, customer forums, and professional networks.

Qualifications & Skills – Digital and Solid:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred) or similar technical discipline.
• Strong general management capability, including P&L ownership, strategic planning, and leadership.
• Deep understanding of power utility automation and digital transformation.
• Proven experience in turnkey services for substation automation, preferably covering:
• Communication systems
• Cybersecurity
• RTUs
• Tele-protection technologies
• Integration of HV/MV substations with control centers
• Strong customer engagement and negotiation skills at senior levels, including EPC-based business models within the utility sector.
• Demonstrated people management experience leading technical and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across regions and global functions.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is absolute must for this role.
