Tremend is looking for a Java Engineering Manager to join our team of bright thinkers and to be responsible for managing the technical team, including staff allocation, coaching, assessments, risk mitigation, etc. You’ll use your problem-solving creativity to figure out our client’s most complex and challenging problems across different industries. We are on a mission to transform the world, and you will be instrumental in shaping how we do it with your ideas, thoughts, and solutions. 

Responsibilities:

• Organizing teams of engineers in delivering challenging projects on a modern tech stack and microservice architecture
• Managing distributed teams of 20+ engineers, with a full-stack background (Java, Cloud, Frontend frameworks)
• Delivering solutions or projects in line with the company's values and business objectives
• Interviews for department resources - recruiting
• Onboarding new joiners
• Career development for department engineers: learning programs, presentations, training, and coaching programs
• Managing internal projects and boilerplates
• Technical supervision of projects 
• Pre-sale tasks for project leads
• Estimates on upcoming projects
• Help Marketing and Sales with different tasks: blog articles, events, speaking events, technical support, estimations, and enforcement of Tremend's way of working - best practices
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department

Qualifications:

• B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10+ years as a Java software engineer
• 2+ years in any related software management role
• Strong working knowledge of modern software development methodologies and software design patterns
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with Software and Hardware architectures and Cloud platforms
• Excellent soft skills and people management skills
