Job Description

As our Finance Operations Director, you’ll play a pivotal senior role in driving financial insight, control, and efficiency across the business. Reporting to the Groupe CFO you’ll be the go-to expert for all things relating to the finance operations of Publicis Netherlands.

Role Purpose

Own the end-to-end financial operating engine of the organization—ensuring accurate financial execution, strong controls, scalable processes, and actionable insights that enable business performance. The role bridges strategy and execution, translating financial goals into operational reality while managing risk, cash, and organizational capability.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Execution

• Own the day-to-day finance operations with the Local, Shared Services (SSC) and Publicis Groupe Delivery (PGD) teams
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial close and reporting

Cash Flow, Working Capital & Cost Management

• Partner with the Treasury Manager in Working Capital forecasting and all key local and SSC stakeholders to drive achievement of KPIs
• Identify and execute cost efficiency and productivity initiatives

Controls, Risk & Compliance

• Maintain and operate strong internal controls per Groupe Policy – Janus and accounting standards
• Own audit readiness (internal and external) and remediation
• Proactively identify operational, financial, and compliance risks and mitigate them

Systems, Data & Scalability

• Lead system implementations, upgrades, and automation initiatives
• Standardize processes to support scale, growth, and acquisitions

Business Partnership & Decision Support

• Act as a trusted finance partner to Operations, Account and Project Management teams
• Translate financial data into operational insights together with F,P&A
• Enable faster, better decisions through improved visibility and analytics

Leadership & Organization Development

• Lead, develop, and scale high-performing finance operations teams (Local and PGD)
• Build management bench strength and succession plans
• Set and manage clear performance expectations
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and integrity

Leadership Expectations (Director Level)

• Think enterprise-wide, not functionally
• Balance speed, control, and scalability to anticipate issues before they are problems
• Operate independently with minimal oversight, developing leaders, not just doers

Qualifications

• 10 years of relevant work experience (media / advertising experience is a must)
• SAP, HFM knowledge is a plus
• Strong communication and analytical skills – proficiency in English
• Accountancy certifications in RA, ACCA, CPA, CA (or equivalent) are highly desired
