We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineering Director / Associate Director – Engineering Lead to lead and scale our engineering function in India. This role requires a strong technical leader who can actively contribute to architecture and code while guiding multiple scrum teams.

You will play a key role in shaping engineering culture, defining technical direction, and accelerating product delivery

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation

• Set clear goals, expectations, and accountability across teams

• Conduct performance reviews, identify growth areas, and support continuous learning

• Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Design, and Architecture teams

Technical Excellence & Delivery

• Drive adoption of AI-driven development practices including code generation, refactoring, and rapid prototyping

• Actively contribute to system design, code reviews, and critical technical implementations

• Champion engineering best practices such as TDD, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

• Ensure consistent Agile execution including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives

Technical Strategy & Architecture

• Partner with senior leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap

• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, including LLM frameworks and AI-assisted tooling

• Guide architectural decisions ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security

• Balance innovation with practical, sustainable engineering choices

Operational Excellence

• Define and track engineering KPIs and OKRs related to quality, velocity, and reliability

• Identify and remove delivery bottlenecks to improve efficiency and developer experience

• Promote a strong culture of quality, security, and operational discipline

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years of overall software engineering experience with at least 5+ years in a people leadership role

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a full-stack and cloud-native application developer

• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with LLM-based frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Hugging Face, or similar)

• Proven experience driving engineering transformation through AI adoption and automation

• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development practices

• Demonstrated success delivering scalable, high-quality products in Agile/Scrum environments

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills

• Experience working with globally distributed teams is an added advantage
