Vice President Group Director, Technology – AI Products & Platform Engineering

Digitas is seeking an innovative and approachable Vice President Group Director, Technology – AI Products & Platform Engineering to lead the next phase of our bespoke generative AI platform. This leadership role oversees multiple cross-functional product teams, guiding the development and scaling of AI-powered solutions that drive value for our agency, network partners, and clients. Working closely with executive leadership, stakeholders, and technical experts, you will set vision, shape roadmaps, and ensure seamless execution across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and align multiple agile development and Scrum teams and Product Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
• Establish and institutionalize development principles, best practices, and agile processes to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability.
• Partner with stakeholders to assess business needs and shape the strategic product roadmap for our proprietary generative AI platform, as well as for products and applications built on top of the platform as the core technology.
• Provide regular progress updates and strategic direction to executive sponsors.
• Collaborate with AI Solutions teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements and integration.
• Stay up to date on generative AI, MarTech, and related technologies to provide internal thought leadership.
• Serve as a platform subject matter expert, creatively solving challenges and developing new features to meet evolving business needs, while continuously advancing the product to keep pace with the rapidly changing generative AI landscape.
• Work with architects to oversee technical solutions that align with established development standards and objectives.
• Cultivate key relationships within Digitas and with external vendors and partners to drive innovation and accelerate product delivery.
• Lead initial technical discussions with potential technology partners to evaluate fit and capabilities.
• Collaborate with program management teams to ensure alignment of product, platform, and application initiatives with organizational goals.
• Present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in an accessible and engaging way.

Daily Routines & Expectations:

• Collaborate closely with clients (both internal and external), vendors, architects, infrastructure and security teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to shape solutions, define strategy, and translate high-level objectives into actionable requirements whether you’re mapping out new features with Product teams, leading client discussions, or joining brainstorming sessions across capabilities.
• Provide oversight and coach Product Managers to effectively guide daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives for their development teams, ensuring agile best practices are upheld.
• Actively mentor Product Managers and technical team members, fostering continuous growth and knowledge sharing.
• Monitor platform performance, user feedback, and industry trends to proactively recommend enhancements.
• Drive a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation, rapid learning, and the adoption of new tools and techniques.
• Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritize features, and resolve blockers quickly.

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of MarTech platforms, tools, and the broader marketing or advertising technology landscape. Experience in marketing, advertising, or professional services industries is highly preferred.
• 10+ years in technology leadership roles, with a track record of managing and scaling cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Deep experience in generative AI, machine learning, or related technologies, with hands-on exposure to AI product and platform development and prompt engineering.
• Demonstrated success overseeing multiple product and engineering teams, ideally in an Agile/Scrum framework, including coaching and mentoring Product Managers and technical leads.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and collaborating across business, technical, and vendor teams.
• Ability to develop, communicate, and execute product strategies that align with organizational goals and drive business impact.
• Experience leading technical discussions and evaluations with technology vendors and partners.
• Passion for staying ahead of trends in AI, MarTech, and platform engineering, with a proven ability to provide internal thought leadership and foster a culture of innovation.
• Track record of developing and empowering Product Managers and engineering talent.

Preferred:

• Experience in a professional services, agency, or consulting environment.
• Experience in public speaking or external thought leadership (conferences, publications, etc.).
