Position Summary
Join Sonoco as a PUR Shooter I (Foam Technician) on the 1st shift in Beecher, IL. Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll inject insulating foam into products like polyethylene and fiberglass containers, cryogenic freezers, and CO2 storage tanks. Shift: 6:00 am - 2:45 pm, Monday-Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays. Starting pay: $20.16/hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow company procedures and manufacturer recommendations for equipment operation.
- Make recommendations for procedural changes and recognize product defects or flaws.
- Monitor foaming system, foam room temperature, nitrogen pressure, and tank fill; report issues immediately.
- Maintain tools, equipment, jigs, and fixtures; ensure cleanliness and report repairs.
- Uphold housekeeping, safe practices, and efficient use of materials throughout the plant.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED.
- 1-3 months related experience or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, read tape measures, and comprehend detailed instructions.
- Work quickly with high craftsmanship and attention to detail.
