Position Summary

Sonoco is hiring a PUR Shooter I for our 2nd shift operation in Beecher, IL. Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in injecting insulating foam into products like polyethylene and fiberglass containers, cryogenic freezers, and CO2 storage tanks. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $20.16/hour plus $2.50/hour shift differential, in a dynamic manufacturing environment where safety, quality, and efficiency are paramount. Key Responsibilities

• Operate equipment per company procedures and manufacturer guidelines, making procedural recommendations as needed.
• Identify product defects, voids, or flaws; conduct periodic quality checks on raw materials.
• Monitor foaming systems, foam room temperature, nitrogen pressure, and tank fill levels; report issues immediately.
• Maintain tools, equipment, jigs, and fixtures in top condition; clean and adjust as required.
• Practice safe operations, efficient material use, and excellent housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Work overtime as needed to support production demands.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 months related experience/training or equivalent combination.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong reading comprehension for instructions, memos, and manufacturing docs.
• Accurate use of tape measure and attention to detail under fast-paced conditions.
