Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Advanced Quality, the Quality Engineer supports customers by ensuring top-tier product quality. You'll apply engineering methodologies to internal production, supplier quality, warranty issues, field concerns, and new product launches. This mid-level role demands a proactive, hands-on approach in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Full-time, on-site in St. Thomas, ON, with occasional U.S. travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive New Product Development using APQP/stage gate processes, including timelines, PPAP, FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, inspections, and gauge reviews.
  • Develop and implement robust inspection, testing, and measurement systems.
  • Perform internal and supplier audits to uphold quality standards.
  • Maintain and enhance quality system documents like procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Manage non-conforming materials and spearhead cost-of-quality (COQ) improvement projects.
  • Deliver training on quality tools, methods, and key product characteristics (KPCs).
  • Serve as a problem-solving expert using 8D, A3, 5 Why, and Fishbone methodologies; lead hands-on events and corrective actions.
  • Support KPI tracking and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Guide teams on inspection techniques, measurement systems, and GD&T.
  • Communicate and resolve quality issues with internal teams, suppliers, and leadership via clear reports.
