Position Summary

Join Sonoco as a Quality Manager - Plant in Cuautitlan Izcalli, Mexico, and play a pivotal role in upholding our world-class standards. This full-time, mid-level position reports to plant leadership and is essential for driving quality excellence across operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust quality testing and reporting systems to monitor performance.
  • Coordinate, support, train, and facilitate all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer issues, leading corrective actions to meet requirements.
  • Oversee the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP) from inception to implementation.
  • Champion continuous improvement programs, reducing variation to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Manage specifications, test methods, work instructions, and audit processes plant-wide.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and develop best practices, training teams across all shifts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in plant quality management, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.
  • Proven expertise in QMS, APQP, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in cross-functional teams and customer-facing roles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software and data analysis tools.
