Position Summary
As Quality Manager at Sonoco's Bradford office, you will lead quality initiatives across our UK manufacturing plants. This full-time, mid-level role involves frequent plant visits, customer liaison, and European travel. Drive continuous improvement, manage audits, and ensure compliance with ISO, BRC/IoP, and customer standards while championing safety and waste elimination.
Key Responsibilities
Key activities include maintaining Quality and Hygiene systems, facilitating internal and external audits, investigating complaints using 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Why methods, analyzing trends with SPC and lean tools, setting plant objectives, training teams, and reporting KPIs. Represent Quality on the plant management team and collaborate on new products, improvements, and cost reductions.
Quality Leadership
Ensure safety through observations and audits. Liaise with customers, suppliers, sales, production, and technology teams to uphold standards and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
Required: Degree in Technical/Manufacturing or Business subject, ISO 9001/14001 experience, 3+ years in manufacturing quality roles, leadership experience, analytical skills, SPC knowledge, MS Office proficiency, and complaint management software experience. Desirable: Six Sigma Green Belt, NEBOSH, BRC/IoP, IATF 16949, APQP, fast-paced manufacturing background.
