EDITORIAL DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION

Editorial Management: Oversee the daily execution and maintain editorial quality control for designated content streams across various platforms (e.g., social media, mid-form and long-form content, podcasts, and digital features). Ensure that all content aligns with the U.S. Editorial vision and adheres to brand guidelines.

Narrative Development: Collaborate directly with producers, directors, production partners, key creators, and freelancers to develop and refine compelling story treatments. Focus on uncovering key research, background information, and unique perspectives to elevate content from good to exceptional.

Hands-On Writing and Editing: Write, edit, and proofread various types of content, including feature articles, scripts, treatments, and copy, while upholding the highest standards of accuracy, tone, and brand voice. Contribute content across Red Bull Media Network’s diverse media platforms, including written material, video, and audio.

Support for Enhancements: Provide direct support to the Senior Manager in developing the editorial research and background infrastructure. Facilitate the consistent delivery of high-quality investigative insights to support major production projects.

RESOURCE AND TEAM MANAGEMENT

Team Coordination: Oversee the daily workflow of both internal and external editorial resources, including managing a roster of freelance contributors.

Freelancer Relations: Identify, evaluate, onboard, and supervise a pool of specialized editorial professionals (e.g., in-depth researchers, expert interviewers) to enhance internal capacities.

Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the main editorial point of contact for designated cross-functional teams (e.g., Sports & Culture). Ensure the efficient exchange of information and provide execution guidance to meet their content requirements with a high standard of editorial quality.

STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT AND QUALITY CONTROL

Goal Alignment: Ensure that the execution of assigned content is strategically aligned with US marketing objectives, effectively resonates with the target audience, and strengthens memory structures to ultimately drive product affinity and sales.

Emerging Opportunities: Assess and support the implementation of new content formats and editorial opportunities as identified by the Senior Manager, ensuring their swift and high-quality deployment.

Performance Insight: Work collaboratively with the Audience Insights team to track content performance metrics (e.g., engagement rates, completion rates, shares). Leverage this data to provide actionable feedback to the content execution teams.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional experience in editorial management, content production, or journalism, with a portfolio showcasing strong storytelling across multiple media formats (digital, social, video, audio).

Demonstrated experience managing freelance teams and workflows in a fast-paced branded media environment.

Exceptional writing, editing, and fact-checking skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse internal teams, serving as a supportive but firm editorial gatekeeper.

Deep passion for and understanding of youth culture, extreme sports, music, and the brand's core pillars.

Creative and strategic thinker who is self-motivated

Demonstrated ability to create engaging content quickly and in alignment with company goals

Ability to effectively manage multiple editorial projects, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while retaining a strong attention to detail

Exceptional cross-departmental communication skills

Complete proficiency in publishing workflows, content management systems (CMS), and digital publishing tools

Excellent knowledge of social and SEO best practices and digital content analytics

This position is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or individuals who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a valid visa.

The base salary range for this position is $85,360 - $128,040 + cash incentives. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of US Editorial, this role will act as the driving force in converting high-level strategic objectives into actionable editorial plans across a variety of media products.

This new editorial position within the Red Bull Media Network will be responsible for coordinating overarching editorial strategies, managing editorial resources, and serving as the primary leader for editorial execution. The goal is to ensure all US media content includes an engaging hook (capturing attention), impactful substance (maintaining interest), and high entertainment value (encouraging sharing).
