Role Overview

The Red Team Consultant - SkillBridge (Remote) position is designed for transitioning U.S. Armed Forces members participating in the DoD SkillBridge program. This is not a direct hire role but a full-time training internship under permissive temporary duty orders, compliant with DoD Instruction 1322.29. Eligible service members in their final 180 days of Active Duty can gain invaluable hands-on experience simulating threat actors to help customers assess risks across the Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK Framework. Work remotely with CrowdStrike's elite services team, coordinating assessments, planning operations, and enhancing customer defenses using the Falcon platform.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll dive deep into offensive security operations. Key responsibilities include performing dedicated Red Team activities to simulate known threat actors, determining impact and likelihood of breaches. Conduct penetration assessments of operating systems, applications, databases, and network infrastructure to detect and enumerate threats. Produce high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, and security recommendations for customer management. Communicate effectively at all levels, from executive leadership to technical teams. Lead and assist in developing information security programs, provide guidance during crisis scenarios like large-scale outages, and operate penetration testing with an OPSEC mindset.

Daily Impact

Expect to plan and execute assessments, collaborate with senior leadership, and integrate with other CrowdStrike services to bolster customer security postures. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you need a strong foundation in offensive cybersecurity. Minimum 3 years of experience in Red Team or Penetration Testing is highly preferred, along with security community participation like conference speaking or tool development. Advanced proficiency with tools such as Metasploit, NMAP, Cobalt Strike, Nessus, and Burp Suite is essential. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of security methodologies, Windows/Linux/UNIX/Mac operating systems, networking components (routers, switches, load balancers, wireless), firewalls, proxies, mail servers, and web servers. Expertise in automation, scripting, vulnerability testing, and adversary emulation is required. Desirable certifications include OSCP, GPEN, OSCE, GCIH, and GXPN.

SkillBridge Eligibility

This role is exclusively for honorably separating U.S. Armed Forces members with 180+ days continuous Active Duty, within the final 180 days of service. Participants receive no compensation from CrowdStrike but continue full military pay and benefits during the 40-hour training week.
