Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be at the forefront of PepsiCo's commercial execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering key monthly and annual brand KPIs such as volume, revenue, portfolio mix, and coverage for the region.
  • Managing full execution of PepsiCo’s annual operating plans, quarterly, and monthly initiatives in collaboration with 3P distributor teams and external agencies.
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships with 3P distributor sales forces, key business partners (KBPs), wholesalers, and their teams to promote PepsiCo brands.
  • Growing the existing customer base through performance reviews, financial health assessments, and tactical initiatives.
  • Developing new business by recruiting customers, prospecting with local distributor principals (DP), and onboarding ideal trade partners with strong working capital, infrastructure, and mindset.
  • Facilitating coverage and effectiveness in secondary sales channels like wholesalers, open market (OM) retail, neighborhood door-to-retail (D2R), and key account management (KAM) retail.
  • Training, coaching, and measuring sales reps through classroom sessions, field accompaniments, and performance tracking.
  • Managing deployment and maintenance of point-of-sale (POS) and merchandising materials.
  • Leading activation and merchandising strategies with DP teams and agencies for brilliant market execution.
  • Sharing business performance insights during review sessions and monitoring market/competitor activities via surveys and feedback.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, candidates must bring proven expertise in FMCG sales. Required qualifications include:

  • 5-7 years of post-tertiary qualification experience in Commerce, Economics, or Logistics, with at least 5 years at middle management level in sales delivering business change.
  • Extensive operational sales and distributor management experience in the food and beverage sector, with a strong focus on traditional trade.
  • Fluency in Hausa and Kanuri languages to effectively engage regional stakeholders.
  • Excellent in-market execution, team management, analytical, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Project leadership capabilities, channel insights, and high business acumen with commercial and financial awareness.
