Join Sonoco as a Plant Reliability Engineer in Newport, TN, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This critical role leads engineering and maintenance activities, spearheading preventive maintenance, reliability processes, and equipment upgrades to boost plant performance, efficiency, and safety. Be the catalyst for strategic improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
As Reliability Engineer, you'll promote a collaborative safety culture, analyze equipment data using CMMS and metrics, and apply tools like RCA, FMEA, and Lean DMAIC for root cause analysis and downtime reduction. Lead projects from concept to startup, optimize maintenance spend, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance reliability and technical talent development.
We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred), 7+ years in manufacturing engineering/maintenance, 3+ years supervisory experience, and proven TPM/Reliability expertise.
