Cardinal Health is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacy Technician for our company-owned retail contract pharmacy at Howard Brown Community Health Center, located at 641 W. 63rd St., Chicago, Illinois. This full-time role involves working in a dynamic environment with pharmacy hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00AM-7:00PM; Tuesday 10:00AM-7:00PM; Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM; and every 2nd and 4th Saturday 9:00AM-3:00PM. As a key team member, you'll develop close relationships with patients, assist pharmacists in preparing and delivering prescriptions, and contribute to pharmaceutical care in communities that need it most. Anticipated hourly pay ranges from $21.20 to $27.18, with the application window closing December 12, 2025.
In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring smooth pharmacy operations and exceptional patient service. Responsibilities include maintaining professional working relationships with pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. You'll adapt to varying demands, remain available to customers at all times, and uphold a friendly, helpful attitude. Key tasks involve organizing medications for dispensing by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities; ensuring medication availability through delivery and ordering; maintaining a safe and clean pharmacy by following procedures, rules, and regulations; and working with the team to implement 340B best practices.
Expect to handle prescription processing, patient interactions, and inventory management while contributing to the team's success in a fast-paced retail setting focused on community health.
To succeed, candidates should hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Illinois. Preferred qualifications include at least 2 years of retail pharmacy technician experience, familiarity with 340B programs, experience in specialty pharmacies handling HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C, and Spanish language skills. Vendor credentialing may be required. These credentials ensure you're equipped to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical support in a community health environment.
