Role Overview

This PRN (as-needed) Retail Pharmacy Technician position at our company-owned retail contract pharmacy in West Sacramento, CA, focuses on covering vacation and sick time. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM—no weekends or holidays required. Technicians play a vital role in delivering medications and pharmaceutical care to communities in need, building patient relationships, and assisting pharmacists in accurate prescription preparation and fulfillment.

Anticipated hourly range is $21.20 to $27.00, determined by location, experience, skills, and internal equity. Drive time to locations outside your home store is reimbursed at your hourly rate, with mileage covered via company systems.

Key Responsibilities

Patient and Team Support

Maintain professional working relationships with pharmacy personnel, physicians, nurses, and other medical staff. Stay available to customers and patients at all times, upholding a friendly and helpful attitude. Adapt to varying pharmacy demands as departmental needs evolve.

Medication Management

Organize medications for pharmacist dispensing by profiling prescriptions, preparing labels, and calculating quantities. Ensure medication availability by delivering to patients and ordering stock as needed. Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy environment in full compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Team Collaboration

Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results. Work closely with the pharmacy team to follow best practices, particularly regarding 340B programs, enhancing overall efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates should have a high school degree or equivalent, with at least 1-2 years of retail pharmacy technician experience. State registration is required if applicable. 340B experience is preferred, as is the ability to speak a second language such as Spanish, Russian, Farsi, or Hindi to better serve diverse communities. Vendor credentialing may be necessary.
